Fabulous Friday #2

Here is the second edition of Fabulous Friday for the upcoming months releases! This month we will look at a combination of series enders, series extras and just books, books and more books. 

1. Redeemed (House of Night 12) by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast

Anyone else glad this series has reached its end? I stopped reading it at around book 7 or 8 as it was just getting ridiculous and long-winded and seemed to never be ending. With the revelation that this is the final (please let it end!) I may decide to have a read of the books I have missed and try and remember where I put the books in the first place. Anyone else in the same boat?

I'm sure this will be right up Emma's street and with a  Sherlock  retelling and who better than Anthony Horowitz? I seriously struggle to read his books as the suspense literally kills me inside. A book full of murder and mystery will be a perfect read for everyone these cold dark nights and will guarantee to get you thinking. A game is afoot, and I am certain that it isn't a gentle game of Cluedo.

4. Blue Lily, Lily Blue (The Raven Cycle #3) by Maggie Stiefvater

21st October : Scholastic

Everyone loves a good Stiefvater book. I currently own the first two books in the quartet though i'll admit book two has remained on my to be read shelf for some times. Although reading this summary I fear that I am missing out on some fantastic story telling as usual. My signed copy of "Shiver" is forever a favourite book of mine and with this book being released i may have to go on a binge of beautifully sculpted plots and tender romances.

5. It must have been the Mistletoe by Judy Astley

6th November - Black Swan

Thea’s parents decide to host a big family Christmas in a house by the sea… even though they are, in fact, about to split up. Thea herself is newly single - her sister and brother are both settled, with children, homes and a future. But Thea’s boyfriend has ditched her in favour of his pedigree dogs, and Thea can’t decide whether or not she minds.

There will be copious food and drink, holly and mistletoe, lots of bracing walks and a wintry barbecue on the beach. If it seems an odd way to celebrate the final break-up of a marriage and the Moving On to new partners, no- one is saying so. But then no-one had anticipated that the new partners might actually turn up to complicate the sleeping arrangements.

As Cornwall experiences the biggest snowstorm in living memory, the festive atmosphere comes under some strain. Will Thea manage to find some happiness for herself? Will the mistletoe work its magic on them all?

Yikes, it is almost that time of year again, Christmas. (shivers) That also means the feel good Christmas books full of family love, new love and just a smidge of snow. Again this is a book to curl up beside a fire (or Radiator) and have a read to make you happy, and maybe just maybe get you thinking about that Christmas cake, or if reading on the Eve, that Turkey needing to be put in the oven tomorrow.

11th November : Skyscape (Kindle Only)

You might remember I reviewed this a while back when it was to be published by Strange Chemistry, until the company folded and it was orphaned. The good news though is that it has been adopted by Skyscape and is getting a Kindle release this November so, you have no reason not to read this!
